Pleasanton’s preapproved-plan process addresses building-plan review for a selected ADU design. The City lists a shorter review measure and a flat plan-review fee for that route, while retaining site-specific requirements and additional project charges.
Compare the plan-review options
Pleasanton says an application using City-preapproved ADU plans is reviewed in seven business days, compared with 15 business days for a standard application. The City lists a $1,000 flat plan-review fee for the preapproved route. The webpage does not identify an effective date for the amount, so confirm the current fee and program availability before filing.
These measures apply to plan review, not the entire route from design through permit issuance or construction. They do not include later corrections, inspections, utility work, or construction time. If the application does not meet the program’s requirements, a different review class may apply.
Keep site-specific work in the scope
A preapproved building design does not eliminate the need for site-specific plans, studies, or engineering where applicable. The applicant must contract with the responsible designer for the selected plan. The local site, utilities, grading, foundation, drainage, and other design conditions can require additional work or review.
Check Pleasanton’s current checklist for the plan option, required contract, site materials, additional construction and inspection fees, and any other approvals. For a view of how this measure differs from other official clocks, see selected permit timeline comparisons.
